World Cup of Cities 🌃: The Vote (IT'S A TIE! - POST 104)

Thanks for all your nominations for the World Cup of Cities! We had 74 cities nominated, so I’ve selected 32 for inclusion in the #WorldCup (although I do want to say that I’m really disappointed that some of you gave joke answers like Gotham, Vermilion City and London).

Please select up to 2 cities from each group, top scorers qualify for the next round. Cities never sleep and to honour this, I will close the polls at my own discretion, so vote now! You never know when it might be too late!

I see you’re still struggling how to spell Birmingham

This is the world cup of best cities, not worst.

I hope so! I think everyone will have a lot of strong opinions about cities in this thread and I’m looking forward to stimulating some lively discussion.

I mean, i’m not quite speechless but i may as well be! Unbelievable. I think you’ll find ‘most’ and ‘respected’ part of your name are now redundant

It won my heart in Instant Hotel S1, and I’m thrilled that it was nominated for inclusion in this thread.

To confirm, after my initial excitement at seeing my hometown mentioned, I am firmly here for the triumph of :

“A cold Tuesday night in Stoke, UK” in this World Cup of cities.

Why you ask? Its a city, made of towns, 6 infact (not 5 Arnold Bennett)! Home of the following - pottery, the mighty potters (who can indeed do it on a cold Tuesday night…sometimes…), Reginald “Spitfire” Mitchell, Robbie Williams, Slash, Lemmy and Captain Smith (of the Titanic). Also, Oatcakes!!! :smiling_face_with_three_hearts:

Rather not it’s big enough as it is.

A really strong international spread I think you’ll agree, while reinforcing British superiority (god save the Queen, Brexit means Brexit :uk: )
