Croutons are crap they just straight away turn into soggy bread.

Toasted white bread thickly smothered in butter then dipped in a soup and straight in mouth :yum:

I really liked in Madrid ordering gaspacho and they brought out a tray filled with croutons, red pepper, tomato, cucumber and chopped onion so you could decorate your soup how you liked it.
