I’ve heard this “joke” a few times today, so I imagine some of you have too. We should keep a record of each occurrence. Hopefully we can use this information to educate people and persuade them to stop saying it and make the world a much better place.
Can we include references to “snowflakes” in this thread too? I’ve heard a couple of them today as well. It’s a field day for a certain type of person.
Exactly
Good point. Hopefully it’ll bring a few more replies into this thread too.
If you like, I could change the title to “clichéd snow chat (rolling)”
We could even cite examples of how a few flakes of snow grinds the UK to a halt, and/or videos of people ploughing into each other on snowy Canadian roads
It’ll mean compromising the great play on words in the title but okay.
Could put it in brackets afterwards?
Like
(Wrong type of) snow watch (and other instances of clichéd snow chat)
i like it
It comes from something years ago when one of the train companies in the UK said they’d had to cancel services due to “the wrong type of snow”. It was widely ridiculed at the time and seems to have entered popular consciousness for some reason.
Sorry for the boring answer.
Bingo!
