Watched twenty minutes. It was the usual conspiracy Smoking Man bilge that killed the show the first time round. There’s too much good telly around to spend any more time on this.

Having for some reason watched the whole thing, I would say you have made the best decision in quitting. It actually gets worse. A lot worse.
The opening montage reminded me of all the shite I’d forgotten from S10. Agent Einstein ffs. And that opening monologue was just musings of a cigarette smoking man again like he hasnt died three times already. Smdh.

Aside from the premiere, I think this season has actually been decent so far.
The Darin Morgan episode (#4) is an absolute delight, if nothing else.
Just watching a Jackass-influenced episode with Jesse from Breaking Bad in.
Obviously it’s dreadful.

My slow rewatch has reached season 2. This is more the show as I remember it, I feel - feels like all the disparate stories so far have been more in some way linked to a core theme of like institutional distrust and weird America. Some of season 1, there’s def a number of points where some writer just dusted off semi-relevant sci-fi scripts they had knocking about and shoehorned Mulder and Skully in there
