Ye Olde Fighting Cocks

Closing down. You just hate to see it. Losing a name like that tragic.

This one is still going strong

1200 years!! Jack Ward has probably been in that place.

I drive past this one every so often

I swear about a thousand different pubs claim to be the oldest

Don’t forget the two-times PUB OF THE YEAR:

Still going strong and still very nice indeed.

At least when I go back home i can still get me some

There used to be a Cock Inn near where I grew up and I was always confused why it had a picture of a horse on the sign rather than a cockerel. But I believe it was to do with Cock Horse (as in the nursery rhyme “Ride a Cock Horse to Banbury Cross”)

what’s the cock-related one in manchester I used to drive past a lot?

It was Ye Olde Cock, Didsbury.

Thanks for listening.

RIP the buffalo bar

Now a cocktail bar called Jam & Rye

(never been)

So I found out when I googled it earlier.
