Having been open for more than 1,200 years, the pub has so far survived the Black Death plague, two world wars, multiple civil wars, and the 2009 financial crash. But not COVID-19.

… but it will reopen with new owners.

Presumably the current owners haven’t been running it the past 1200 years, so it’s a complete non story

The pub’s landlord, Brictwold Muffle, said that, while the business has experienced difficulties in the past, he’d never known anything like this and the pandemic completely kicked his arse
