This and Young Fathers sitting in my bag at the moment. Looking forward to next week!
I’ve written about this twice, ha, basically it’s like being trapped in a pleasant dream:

Dream Dream Away > Shortwave > Above The Sound is bliss
Hoping I can pick this up on the way home
Or else MY DAY IS RUINED
I’m the middle of this now, it’s wonderful
Proper classic dreamy YLT, this. Had the perfect listen to it this afternoon with crisp, bright early Spring weather.
Ira has this slight hint of his own unique gruffness in his voice these days, I like it.
Listened to the first coupla tracks on my drive home (on a suitably rainy night). That e-bow on the first track, omigosh
The YLT sound works so well in so many situations
‘Ashes’ reminds me of something of that underwater soundtracks album (can’t be bothered looking up the exact wording, though I should probably re-d/l that album, as I loved it a lot)
Amazing that they can still churn out albums of this quality. Truly one of the greatest bands ever. So looking forward to seeing them next month.
absolutely agree! loving this album
This album can only be described with one word and that word is “HNGHH”. Beautiful, hazy stuff, basically Summer Sun 2: Summerer Sunner but even driftier
Loving this description. Summer Sun really is underrated - I never got the muted response that it received on release.
Summer Sun was my intro to YLT, so I hold it in pretty high esteem. Season Of The Shark remains my favourite song.
Think that description is pretty apt too. This is a great album.
Just to add my love for this album to all those who have gone before. Must try Summer Sun, by the sound of it. Currently very much enjoying What Comes Next from Fakebook. Now that’s a choon.
Electr-o-pura has Tom Courteney so is the best by default.
Never seen this video before. Cool.
they’ve kind of all been understated since I am Not Afraid…Beat Your Ass though. miss the old guitar-fuzz personally
Maybe they’ll do another Condo Fucks album one day!
i do really love Summer Sun; And Then …Turned Inside Out might be my favourite listen-all the way-through moodpiece album by them (it’s one of those albums that when you’re in the mood for it nothing else will do). and i came around to the last album they released a lot. for what it’s worth i couldn’t get into that Condo Fucks release.
Favourite all-time YLT track is the electric Barnaby, Hardly Working
