There’s a Cat’s Pyjamas on one of those little side streets up from the river, they do good Indian food and craft beer

My daughter starts her university course in York next week.
She doesn’t know the place well enough yet, isn’t there tomorrow and, in any case, is dozy as arseholes.

Dunno about drinks but you should go to Skosh cause it’s one of the best restaurants in the country and it’s not mad expensive.
Doubts it’s open day time though
Keep meaning to go there, York’s only 20 mins away by train but I’m so lazy I C even BA to go to restaurants 15 minutes’ walk away
