J17 magazine was obsessed with the Dandy Warhols and Fun Lovin’ Criminals.

You know those Diary of a Crush books @pervo - where all the characters are named after Warhol factory people. Remember how in the original magazine versions the wimpy main girl was a huge Fun Lovin’ Criminals fan and it got changed to the Strokes or something when they did paperbacks a few years later?

I loved how naive they made a 16 year old living in Manchester. Probably deliberately because they know that teenage girl magazines are always a few years younger than the official reader aged, so they pitched her a couple of years younger in behaviour.
