We just spent 30 minutes going round the streaming options. We picked The Ruins , a 2007 horror on Netflix. I’ll be back with a rating later.
What did you pick? What streaming service or channel? Was it any good? Hopefully next time we’re stuck I can use this thread for inspiration

Great idea for a thread.
Just watched The Cat Returns on Netflix, after going through every film on every streaming service. A less well regarded ghibli film, but I thought it was pretty charming and felt very fairytale-esque. Plus the English dub has Tim Curry as a giant cat king

We picked the Gray Man, very silly but fun. Enjoying Chris Evans hamming up the place

Great film. I really enjoyed it.
The Ruins 2007, Netflix
5/10 - perfectly fine, if a little dull. Like someone took a middling X Files episode and added an extra 45 minutes to it.

Batman (1989)
Plot’s all over the place but man, the performances, soundtrack and sets are so good.

Been a while since I watched that, remember enjoying it. Is it streaming anywhere?
Felt like something splatter-y and silly but not scary so re-watched Ready Or Not. Still enjoyed it!

Have you seen Adam and Paul? It’s my favourite of his I think.
I read The Ruins because a horror podcast would not stop talking about it, and i thought it was so terrible. Interested to hear how the film is

The first 5 eps are pretty rubbish. Then gets great.

The serial killer of the week stuff is week is poor, then Eddie Izzard turns up and is rubbish. It’s a rough start to season 1.
