The C is for clear or cancel, it’s to stop you getting it wrong because someone else put in half a code

Doesn’t the C reset it though? Have lots of them at work and you can put in a rough order and they still work. Like C248 would work with 482 etc. It’s all a big con!!

The code for my old office was C1066, used to make people think I was magic by just pressing the 1, 0 and 6 keys at the same time to gain access.
