Will always give a hand of thanks at a zebra crossing, but never at a pelican, a toucan, or a puffin crossing.

I have no accepted hand gesture protocol for a pegasus crossing.

I do agree with you Casseroles. It shouldn’t be an expectation.
I do however have beef with drivers who I let in front of me/out of side roads/etc who don’t then raise a hand of thanks to me. Utter bastards to a man/woman

I let someone out earlier, and as they pulled out I noticed they were on their phone. Wish I’d spotted that before letting the cunt out.

That said, probably better to have them in front than behind me if they’re doing things other than driving whilst behind the wheel

As a driver I don’t expect a thanks or get annoyed if I don’t get one.

But as a pedestrian I normally give a wave of thanks as it seems the polite thing to do.

You need to up your road-rage game guv

I just thank everyone all the time in case anyone thinks I’m being rude. Thank you for taking the time to read this.

Toucan is the one that has bikes on it too.

Pelicans are the ones with flashing amber lights and Puffins just change normally, I think Puffin is a really cack-handed acronym for something.

someone rolled down their window and shouted VOTE CONSERVATIVE at me as they drove past on friday. and of course it was a white van driver

What on Earth did they shout? “YOU’RE WELCOME”?

Pelican is apparently “PEdestrian LIght CONtrolled Crossing” (and was originally PELICON crossing).

they’re all the same thing though, eh

toucans have a picture of a bike on them and puffins have the lights on the same side of the road as the buttons, but there’s no need for them to have different names is there?

Just before Christmas last year I kicked a car that didn’t stop when I was halfway across a zebra

Well how the fuck else do you propose to fill up the driving theory test questions after you’ve asked if drinking alcohol before setting off to settle your nerves is a (a) good, (b) excellent, © continue as you have right of way, or (d) bad idea?

Yes, exactly that!

There’s a really lovely lollipop lady at the end of my road and she always stops and chats to me if I ever walk into work. Problem I have is that she operates on a zebra crossing and I’m like ‘m9, you’re getting mugged off by a zebby here, choose a stretch of road that needs you’,

I very nearly kicked a cyclist who went straight over some lights as it was on a green man and I was crossing. But I thought better of it.

Ooft yeah they’re the worst for zebras innit. Always stop at them when I’m cycling.

Felt pretty bad about booting the car, definitely had one of those ‘you need a day off’ moments a few seconds after the booting.

They’re broadly the same thing, yeah.

You need a name for the different types though, so your man at the council knows to buy the right one for a horse or bike to cross or whatever.

It’s like saying there’s no point giving different cars names, cos they all do the same thing.

Agreed
