Things I think I will never be able to do to any degree of decency:

Draw/sketch/paint
Skateboard (had one for years and never got beyond an Ollie really apart from that one kickflip)

what about all the people that have tried to do exactly that (ie snooker players) and failed?

they’re just not trying hard enough?

Yeah, and they should be ashamed

I initially thought this was incredibly rude but now I’ve remembered what the thread is.

Fucking hell, people are defensive about snooker, eh? Who would have thought that such a shit sport for utter twats, the scum of all humanity, cue cunts, baize bastards, baulk bollocks would have such a stance for pool’s inferior cousin?

Alright Billy Big Pockets

All card game stuff is obviously learnable, given enough time. How much time depends on how well you grasp some fundamental concepts, though. There are a couple of PhD mathematicians in my play group and it’s frankly embarrassing how quickly they latch onto concepts that I need ages to figure out.

There’s another guy in the group who has an incredible analytical mind and can look at any given board state and figure out what his highest percentage plays are. There’s experience in there too, for sure, but a lot of rapid analytical thought going on.

I’m only good at the things I can brute force learn heuristics for or read around.

not just snooker, I’d say it’s the same for all non physically demanding sports. 10-pin bowling, darts, golf. you couldn’t just pick any random baby and make them a world champion.

(though maybe darts because I doubt the competition is really that high tbh)

Darts is the best of those sports too, by a long way. I think you should do it. Get Gary Anderson to take you under his wing.

Yeah, basically

coding is easy

takes longer to get that darts physique though

yeah, like that

yoganna hurt yourself

I hope I live to see a random baby win the world darts.
