All card game stuff is obviously learnable, given enough time. How much time depends on how well you grasp some fundamental concepts, though. There are a couple of PhD mathematicians in my play group and it’s frankly embarrassing how quickly they latch onto concepts that I need ages to figure out.
There’s another guy in the group who has an incredible analytical mind and can look at any given board state and figure out what his highest percentage plays are. There’s experience in there too, for sure, but a lot of rapid analytical thought going on.
I’m only good at the things I can brute force learn heuristics for or read around.
