I watched One Plus One, the Jean Luc-Goddard film in my bedroom late at night when I was about 14. Channel 4 and i should have been asleep on a school night. I’d only just had a small black and white television for my room and it was mesmerising.
I’d never heard Sympathy For The Devil at this point and spent the next few weeks looking in record shops on the back of Rolling Stones albums for a song called Pleased To Meet You, which obviously doesn’t exist.
It is their best song.
