Your 'comfort' movies, TV shows, records, books

Do you have any go-to things to rewatch/relisten to when you’re bummed out/need to self-comfort etc, or when you need to hide/feel better/stop thinking about stuff? i’m aware you might have 50 answers for records. Some people I know don’t reread books – i do, if the chips are down.

Records Complete Sessions at 54th, Ben Folds Five; Fountains of Wayne, Self Titled; White Lighter, Typhoon; Fewer Moving Parts, Bazan; Pinkerton

Movies Scott Pilgrim; Dracula (1992, i know, i know); Step Brothers

TV Series Firefly; particularly guilty pleasure is old Poirot

Books Any of the Terry Pratchett books; most of Tad Williams.

Vidya Games Castlevanias; Megamans; Overwatch

The Office is my go to TV series. Not sure I have any for the other categories tbh. Maybe a selection of late 90s/early 00s chart trance.

My wife always knows when I’m having a bad mental health time because I start rewatching the first couple of seasons of Community.

It’s more vague - comfort activity is walking and listening to music or watching kdramas/films or reading without any real specification other than it has to be low stakes and something where i know the ending and it’s a happy one.

Can’t really do this because I become painfully aware that I have a finite time on earth and a functionally infinite amount of media I want to consume.

Pratchett books absolutely.

Do rewatch gilmore girls but it gets less comforting each time

My safe brain off music is Ride the Lightning, Master of Puppets and Rust in Peace
