Shobaleader One, Islington Assembly Halls. Fierce prog-rock for dancing to, Squarepusher with a bass like a tank going through ten mac-routed pedals (he played a piano solo on the bass at one point ffs) with a tight band including the unbelievable drummer from Three Trapped Tigers.
King Crimson, invite only in Aylesbury, a wonderful surprise, just as skronky as anything at these left-field jazz-rock festivals I go to. Nearly three hours & I wanted to go to all the next three nights.
Martin Creed, Moth Club. Less of the angular song-deconstruction ad absurdam, more quirky and cutesy, as lovable as ever, a national treasure.
Meet Me In St Louis, The Dome. A decade after I first saw them at the Windmill, when they were ferocious, in the middle of everything, it was the greatest thing I’d ever seen - they were the most welcome reunion; amazing and odd to see such a response from people who’d never seen them before.
Trupa Trupa, Cafe Oto. I’d waited ages for this Polish psych-rock band to come over & they were worth it.

Shit yeah that was good.
I may need to rethink some things. I also loved Mamiffer at that show an awful lot even if everyone later told me it was boring. I DISAGREE.
