Another venue spin off thread but I always love these chats in the pub when I realise friends have very particular places they like to watch shows (especially audiophiles who know the room sound, and people who want to be as close as possible without being too crowded in)
Like at Scala, getting there early enough to stand just to the right of the sound desk on the raised platform against the barrier is one of my favourite slots - saw NIN do a secret-ish show there and it was incredible. Also The Shins back in the early days (they may even have been supporting Modest Mouse, thinking about it)
Thread inspired by:
Brixton Academy* - near the front on the right hand side (stage left). Means that the TV can get to the women’s loos easily plus you can get up and down the side of the crowd for the bar

Any venue, next to the sound desk. It’s going to sound best there, you can’t argue with the science.

In general, any venue that has the women’s loos down at the front will have a bit more space around that area.
Other suggestions:
Electric Ballroom has that area front left that is never busy. If you time it so that you’ll not need to go to the bar or the loo, it’s the best place to go.
Scala also has that hidden balcony top left that never seems to get busy either, probably because it’s a bit of a Maze to get up there.
That’s usually the guest balcony. Saw Phoebe Bridgers from it. Really special show.
In front of the sound desk? I saw Prince from there.
