Plus he’s single handedly trying to stop my target of reading more female authored books than male authored books each year. Still need to one day get around to his Children of Time books too. Maybe next year..

Looks like I have now somehow read 58 of his books (going down to Novelettes but not Shorts), with 2 on my to read pile. Think that is pretty much everything he has released. Read his dyslexic friendly novella(?) The House of the Old Cliffs at the weekend, which was pretty good.

I’ve just finished Tchaikovsky’s Guns of the Dawn and, unsuprisingly, it’s really good. Lots of fantasy Napoleonic War in a jungle stuff. But it’s also a Jane Austin novel.
It was a bit jaring, because I didn’t know anything about the book going in.

I read the third, Blood of the Mantis earlier this year and it was just ok, I will continue as I have the whole series downloaded from that bundle a few months ago that someone on here shared, but at the moment others of his and other authors are currently in front of them in terms of the queue to be read.
17 novels and 2 novellas for me, just about to start Children of Strife and have another 12 novels on my Kindle to be read!

Ha, I’ve just checked - I have another 26 unread Tchaikovsky’s on my kindle!
I’m trying to make sure I don’t leave too big a gab between each Apt book, as I forget too easily what’s happened previously. There was a couple of bits in book 5 that I wasn’t quite sure what it was referring to until it gave a bit more backstory and then I was ‘Oh yeah!’. So I’d like to read some of his other books first, but I’m committed to finishing this series beforehand.

Doing the Hobb books. Read 1-3 (farseer) as a teen and 6-9 (tawny) in early uni. Never did the others but planning on the whole shebang.
Anyone else think that Burrich and especially Chase are a little harsh on our boy? Very much “have respect and give your entire life to your king but by Eda DO NOT DO ANYTHING THAT MIGHT ACTUALLY PROTECT HIM FROM HIS FAVOURITE SON, THE WALKING BETRAYAL” followed by Chade getting all excited about a hare-brained scheme, then blaming Fitz (who was not in a good frame of mind for various reasons at the start of book 3) at great and considerable length when it went horribly wrong.
Like… he’s a teenager. Give the guy a break.

I mean, they’re great books, but I can see how the lad ends up in a dark place
