A Very British Coup (1988)

Has anyone seen this? Just finished it again. Watched it years and years ago. One of those perfect paranoid grainy eighties TV dramas that we used to churn out, eh.

Feels pretty relevant, really, given Corbyn’s rise, and the paranoia about Russia, etc. Ray McAnally’s great. Keith Allen plays a good part as well, and Jim Carter’s always worth a watch.

It’s on 4OD anyway, just three fifty-minute episodes. Recommendations of anything similar appreciated…

Thanks for this. I’ve read the book, but never seen the TV version.

Saw it about ten years ago on 4oD. Did think there were parallels with Corbyn’s original rise, but less so in the last year or two.

The book is a decent enough read as well if you’re into novels.
