Finally committed to the gig in a few weeks. Bet the Saturday Barras atmosphere will be better (no shit) but getting a full band show in a 500 cap venue will be very cool too

Just feels like one of those times where whatever the newest album is when I decide to get into a band will be the one that clicks best - regardless of whether it’s really their strongest

How did the title of the new album, I’m Totally Fine with It Don’t Give a Fuck Anymore, come about?
It was a text message from our touring drummer. I sent a group text to the band when I was coming to the end of a Covid quarantine, and we were due to go on a wee tour. I asked if everyone was happy to travel with me, and that was his response. I took a screenshot right away and filed it in the album folder.

I only got into them since they reformed so only really listen to the last two albums (tried Philophobia back in the day and couldn’t get along with it AT ALL)…
I’d say for getting into their pre-reunion stuff, it might be best to work backwards

Selling two versions of it on this tour, there’s a standard shiny black mug that’s white inside, or this all black one with a matte finish. Originally asked for the black and white one but Aidan convinced me the matte finish is ‘a bit sexier’.

I was surprised that the setlist for this tour is nearly all last from the 2 albums and very little pre-reunion, unlike the last album tour. But when you listen to the old live recordings on their Bandcamp it used to be very normal for them to focus almost entirely on the new album with only a couple of oldies thrown in, so it feels like this might be them getting beyond ‘reunion’ mode and slipping back into their old ways of working and acting more like a ‘current’ band than a reunited one.

This is my preferred setlist for any touring band. Don’t mind a greatest hits set at a festival, but if they have a new album out then I want to hear it live…

Wasn’t able to make the Dolans show last night, but seeing the setlis from the Belfast gig had me in a bit of a sulk. Net result is I’m off to see them in Galway tonight instead.
