It’s such a nebulous term that I’m saying yes. The Apple Music ‘New Wave Essentials’ playlist has Take on Me by Aha, How Soon is Now? and Pass the Dutchie by Musical Youth on it, proving that basically all music made since 1978 is officially ‘new wave’.
