BBC's greatest hip-hop songs of all time

What do we reckon to that then?

I was prepared to go on a rant, but ya know what, its a really good list

Yeah that’s what I thought tbh. Not necessarily the order I’d choose but hard to argue with most of it really.

Annoyed at no Scenario. Or Beastie Boys.

No de la soul, probably should have ll cool j, busta rhymes as well.

Apart from B.O.B being too low can’t really argue.

Lists everywhere eh. They’re the soup of day!

Pleased to see Souls Of Mischief, T.R.O.Y. and Electric Relaxation in there

What the fuck is the Insane Clown Posse song doing in the top 10

93 Til Infinity is a nice surprise.

Seems stupidly reductive to cover an entire genre in 25 songs. I guess if they are doing pop, rock, soul etc as well that is fine and just a bit of click bait.

The ‘across 15 countries’ bit is interesting and I wonder how much impact that had - established classics aren’t always uniform.

Bastard.

Just realised I’ve been had. Well played.

No Gang Starr? What sort of list is this?

Good list. Lose Yourself is a turd of a song, though. And Juicy isn’t even Biggies best song.

Paul Revere should be on there.

Possibly/hopefully the reason they’ve snuck an Insane Clown Posse song in there
Can’t really fault it otherwise although arguably a bit dated (genuinely think most of this decade’s developments have created a fair amount of instant ‘classics’ specific to hip hop but there we go)

hadnt noticed they put up all the individuals lists until now, as usual theyre more interesting than the aggregate one

lol at someone choosing an answerphone skit as their all time favourite hip-hop song

Oh wow, they had some heavyweights contributing.
