I saw Drugstore once do an in store at Action Records in Preston. My abiding memories of it were firstly that they were lovely people and secondly that Isobelle chainsmoked through the entire session and filled the small space with smoke to the point that it was quite painful to stay in there.

Think Iā€™m pushing it a bit with this (1999) but musically it fits. Ex-White Rose Movement members mixing suede with a bit of MBV.

Iā€™ve heard two Shack albums, Waterpistol and that one. Waterpistol is the slightly better one imo.

Iā€™ve been actually meaning to get more into Michael Headā€™s discography, quite large and confusing at this point.

Ultrasoundā€™s Everything Picture is getting a comprehensive re-release soon, according to the band. Utterly love that album. Had tickets to see them earlier this year but COVID fucked that; the gig was rescheduled for 2021 so hopefully itā€™ll go ahead (and I can get time off work if so!)

Jack were brilliant. I had the chance to see what must have been on of their last shows, in Cardiff.

The latter succeeds despite having one of my least favourite things ever. the dreaded fade-in.

I donā€™t think Iā€™ve heard Waterpistol or ever got round to solo stuff. Not sure why as HMS Fable and Hereā€™s Tom With The Weather are both great imo. Think on balance I just about prefer the former as itā€™s more raw sounding. Hereā€™s Tomā€¦ was made after theyā€™d been playing with Arthur Lee and accordingly sounds more lush.

On The Corner Of Miles & Gil is more polished again and enjoyable enough, but a definite drop off from the two previous.
