We’re going in May! Can’t wait actually, one of those places where just out of the blue it’s really captured my imagination - might have been around about the time I found out how cheap it is there.

Thinking about Romania next year for my 40th, so watching this thread with interest.
It’s nice. Tour of Ceausescu’s old palace is good, and there was an outdoor museum full of slightly eerie old cottages and houses that I quite liked.

the therme spa is incredible
(don’t go upstairs in the old town if you’re by yourself and invited (“will help you find directions!”) you will be mugged. this happened on a stag do to a lovely boy who was just trying to find sex work.)

I’ve been a couple of times with work. Haven’t had a chance to go into any touristy sites, but had a walking tour which was really interesting - loads of history and great architecture. City is lovely and the food/night life is great.
