I hadn’t had time to change it.
Mostly I was worried about people being able to edit other people’s posts.

Testing
NOPE!
Oh ffs.
Good luck, this took ages to sort out before.
There’s an edit time limit but you have to make sure there’s no period where any edit doesn’t show up otherwise you can get edits with no audit trail, which we found was bad.
@sean, what is it you’re trying to change exactly?
Hah yeah, it is a bit confusing. I’ll get back to you tomorrow if we do need help. Thanks!
^yeah wtf
@sean Is there anything you have done that might have affected this? I couldn’t see anything when I went through the settings again yesterday ![]()
Sorry! I don’t think I changed anything else.
I’ll take a proper look tonight
I was trying to stop editing a post wiping all of the votes in a poll. Seems like a really dumb bug and I also didn’t want someone making an edit to be helpful or for a laugh and losing all the votes.
@whiterussian I have removed the 10 mins from first one on here and changed trust level for editing to level 2
Oh right, I think we all just don’t edit posts with polls in because we know it does this, particularly Mods and Admins (who are the only ones who can alter another person’s post! You need not worry! We all learned the hard way long time back
Ok. The settings made it seem like anyone could edit anyone else’s posts… especially when this thread title issue was being discussed above.
Regular level users and above can edit anyone’s thread title and add tags etc. but not normal posts.
Does it look like it’s working again now?
Titles are fine now, and never lost the function to edit my own posts so I don’t know about that.
Yay editing is back
Can one of you just check the edit timeout on posts after you post them? It was at 10 minutes before everything was changed but I just got locked out of updating a post very quickly, which is odd.
(Obviously the timeout to force an edit history needs to be a 0 or whatever so we still get the audit trail.)
Oh weird oh well
