Still need to check out the new one. First became aware of her when she collaborated with Tim Presley (White Fence) as DRINKS, which was…ok. Checked out her Rock Pool EP because I liked the cover, but didn’t care that much for the music. I wouldn’t listen to an album until Reward in 2019, which it turns out I liked quite a bit. That led me to Crab Day and Mug Museum later that same year, which are also quite good. I’d say Mug Museum is my favorite of them, need to get that one on vinyl. I did pick up a copy of Crab Day on vinyl last year, didn’t realize it was hard to come by. Maybe not in the US anyway.
i wasn’t fussed on Drinks initially but i got the first album for a couple of quid on Rarewaves recently and it’s grown on me. must revisit the second one.
Never really bothered with her much before Rewards and then never revisited that one. Very taken with the new album though, so much so I booked tickets to see her this weekend. Smashing.
I revisited the second one a few months ago. It’s marginally better than the first, still just a 3/5 for me. I dig the cover art through, 4/5 for that.
Really enjoying the run of Running Away - Cry Me Old Trouble - Remember Me - Wheel in the back half. First half has still to properly click but I’ll be giving it more time for sure
the French Boys - Pompeii - Harbour run is really doing it for me

Just bought a ticket to see her at the Hackney Empire. Got an aisle seat in the dress circle. I’ve seen her twice before, both times in 2019. Can’t wait.

Seeing her next month, I saw her in 2016 and then doing a stripped back set supporting The National in 2018 but haven’t seen her since

I need to give the new one a listen but up to now Mug Museum has been my favourite. The records in between I admire more than love, but some really great tracks in amongst them.
Cyrk I’ll always love, it has a lot of charm. Puts Me to Work is great if only because it has a woozy rhythm so loose it sounds like it could all fall apart at any moment.

Not that familiar with her previous stuff, but enjoying listening to this one at the moment. I can hear where Julia Holter comparisons are coming from (especially on the title track), but so far this reminds me most of The Colour Of Spring-era Talk Talk.

New album is so great. Even as a long time fan I think it always takes a few listens to tune in to each new album but so rewarding if you do.

Haven’t found Pompeii quite as immediate as Reward but still enjoying it especially French Boys and Running Away.
Took me a few listens to click with this latest album and whilst I think it drags in places (particularly it opens poorly), I really like French Boys and Harbour, think they’re amongst her career best.
