Death Grips

The mixing/mastering on this sounds murky af to my untrained ears. Some good stuff on it so far, loving flies.

I like this and I’m not a Death Grips expert but I thought this sounded a lot like retreading old ground. What on this is new for them? I’m not saying that in an argumentative way, genuinely interested to know from someone more familiar with all their output.

death grips are the shit. really enjoying year of the snitch.

Playing Manchester Albert Hall 1st September

From the off I’d say a song like ā€˜The Fear’ is a new sound for them. But generally speaking this whole album feels a bit lighter in tone than anything else they’ve done. I can’t really make out Ride’s lyrics so don’t know if that’s reflected in the lyrical content.

UK/EU tour just announced, definitely going to the Brixton show:

My problem with Death Grips, and I do count myself as a fan, has always been that I have to be in the mood to listen to it. And I can’t have it on in the house as my wife cannot stand them, which is fair enough.

Finally got round to listening to this now and I’m into it, but again, it’s one that’ll be enjoyed when I’m in the car on my own, out running etc. Have it on my headphones now and it’s literally taking all my available concentration to type this post.

They are a very unique group, IMO. Can’t think of anyone quite like them. Like a super extreme version of DƤlek.

I am pretty much always in the mood to listen to them but I’m in a similar position. One of the few bands I’m not allowed to listen to in the house with my gf around. See also: Melt-Banana

Anyone going to see them in Glasgow tomorrow?

Decent but not great show in Brixton last night. Sound was pretty muddy and their were mic issues. Fucking loud though, can barely hear today. Pit went as far back as the balcony. Lot of people complained they only played for an hour but that doesn’t bother me that much.

The Village Underground show in 2016 was much better. Not sure they are suited to such a large space.

New EP, pretty much unlistenable

Their thang on NTS was amazing

Same thing I think

One mans unlistenable is another mans…

Very happy to see them return, even if they were only gone for 4 years. I hope to see them live again. And I hope the crowd isn’t full of annoying meme people

They are going to release an album at the same time as Kendrick aren’t they.

Death Grips and Weezer have a lot in common when you think about it

Big day for people with my specific internet music brain disease. I stayed up late before school to download the NLDW leak and spent the day trying to listen to the full thing between classes.

Good luck with that

Out of the loop here , what are ā€œmeme peopleā€ and how are Death Grips a meme?
