Welcome to the 2025 DiS Albums of the Year 2025 results thread!
The results have all been tallied, checked and the EUROCOUNTRY/EURO-COUNTRY/EuroCountry/Euro-Country/Euro Country votes for CMAT and Cmat, the many perfectly reasonable variations of that (The) Besnard Lakes album and the whole spectrum of slightly (sometimes beautifully) renamed albums have all hopefully been spotted and merged.
Thanks everyone for following the requested format in the polling thread, it made things a lot easier to work with and to check voter numbers reconciled last night.
@Severed799 will be along later this morning to host the results rundown. In the meantime, some headline figures for 2025:
173 voters (Just one shy of last yearās record turnout) 372 albums nominated 107 different albums received a first place vote 1 winner!
Congratulations to Ethel Cain, Sharp Pins and Smote who each made it onto the list with two separate releases.
Iāll be back at the end with some nice data to dive into, but for now thanks as always to @Severed799 for hosting.
One more stat while we are waiting for the results to start.
Shout out to @el-barnetto who was the only DiSer out of all 173 to submit five unique nominations!!
@rustypiss was there with @el-barnetto all the way until the penultimate vote when a second nomination for Laura Judd dramatically landed!
As such then @rustypiss joins @SleepingCapybara just behind @el-barnetto in these standings, both with four unique nominations and one nomination with that received two votes.
This is what the countdown is for, to inform me of everything I should have been listening to all year. =P
Definitely be checking out both Capybaraās and Barnettoās suggestions, they might be onto something. =]
@SleepingCapybara - Quite liked what I heard from Kara-Lis Coverdale so far, Iāll give it a proper listen
And @el-barnetto - Impurityās album got my attention so Iāll give it a go too.
Morning all, I just woke up as due to various delays to my trip home last night I didnāt get in until 1:45am so let us have a coffee and that to wake up first and then weāll get going x
How many posts until the first āoh my god, I canāt believe that the band thatās really popular on here has polled so well!!ā complaint? Iām saying around post 45.
Yeah thatās what I was confirming but if I saw it used with good Iād assume it improved the word good, like if I said something was āhorribly goodā.
Basically everyone goes on about the Geese album being amazing so wasnāt sure you could be a dissenter.
