Ever stood near a bunch of trees?

When it’s windy? Kind of amazing how rich and detailed the soundscape is. Could see it being a fun thing people would get together to do in the iron age

Really enjoying thinking about this, even though I can’t currently do it. Lovely.

was out in the fields and they have some real big ones out there, loose leaves just bristling and swooshing in the wind on the hill. Took my headphones off and stood there for a few minutes seeing how many little details I could pick out and how far and 3D the sound went. Started thinking about how you could imagine the gods communicating through trees

What’s your favourite type of tree to stand near Bam?

I had a weeping willow in my front garden when I was a kid and that tree was super impressive and atmospheric. These days just anything with a massive trunk I can lean against

Sounds great but mind out for the pears!

Nature’s great. Underrated by too many people, I think

Never heard GBV before but this has that big dreary, foreboding sound of 1970s prog stuff, very nice!

Trees are brilliant

Slightly unnerving though when you can hear them creaking under the strain

Did you know a bunch of trees is called a stand? So you can stand near a stand of trees

I didn’t, thanks for the knowledge!

It’s good to think about the noise that trees make, but how about we make some noise for the trees for once

There was a guy who’d taken his full drum kit to under a tree in the park this afternoon. Not busking or anything, just having a noisy time
