Very much enjoyed that, have now finished it. Probably the best adaptation of a video game Iāve seen tbf. Stands up on its own and didnāt ruin something I have a history with.
The violent scenes really felt like the games too, very well done.
Stoked for season 2
I imagine they will do that
Especially considering the guy from RobCo/ mr House was in the round table discussion episode
I really enjoyed the show, definitely really found its stride around episode 6 as well imo, very strong last few episodes.
Enjoyed this, thought it was pretty decent.
Lots of fun spotting someone from something moments.
Recognizing one of the overseer nominees from this was my favourite
Well that was bloody excellent
Three episodes in, this is fucking great.

Didnāt like that a significant plot point hinges on the ghoul dude remembering that 200 years ago a guy he met once introduced himself with his full name, and not only does he remember that but reasons that the girl who heās just met with the same surname must be the daughter of this guy. I literally forget peopleās names within 0.5 seconds of an introduction so it felt very implausible.
Also the reason for all the nukes was v silly and immersion breaking. Donāt have a problem with the overall idea but it was badly executed.
The rest was good though.
This has also triggered my intermittent anxiety about/interest in/morbid obsession with nukes and nuclear war. God they are terrifying. Why oh why did we pursue that stuff.
I am reasonably confident it would never get to that point but as long as the American or Israeli states exist you cannot be 100% can you. Christ. What a world eh.
India/Pakistan as well, especially with Modi. Once huge parts of that region become uninhabitable due to climate changeā¦
Iām no geopolitics expert but I reckon the moment Bangladesh finds itself underwater is going to be very, very bad
I like a lot of this and wouldnāt be nit picky about slight little lore changes/narrative contrivances for the show but I really donāt like that theyāve gone the classic Bethesda Fallout route of ānearly everything is a shanty town and barely anything has been rebuilt/cleared up in 220 yearsā
Pretty much resetting New Vegas/the classic games continuity sucks too, just pick an ending from the game to build on you cowards, even if itās kind of a cop out like the tunnelers or some shit.
Itās still good but wish itād have just been itās own continuity
If the Mr House ending is canon in NV the continuity more or less matches I think?
I worded that clumsily. Meant āresetā as in it being a lawless wasteland with no strong competing factions. The reason in the show for this is really naff, there were several things mentioned/alluded to in New Vegas that could have been used as a better reason, even if I would have preferred a different direction. Hopefully they use some of that in the next season. Most likely theyāll make the house ending canon, but wouldnāt put it past trying to make it deliberately vague too.
Everything else about the show is great though. They nailed the dialogue, aesthetic, and humour of the series. In a lot of ways itās even more impressive then last of us as thatās mostly a direct crib from the first gameās script.
was going to watch a bit of this at my mateās house but ended up watching something called The Traitors instead and had a great time!
Overall pretty decent although it canāt be overstated how bad the final episode was.
Also felt the plot was pretty unclear in terms of timelines and details.
But enjoyed it and glad it exists.
Mind-boggling amount of justified crossover
Finished it all this weekend. Wish it was a lot sillier and had a lot less āslow-mo violence juxtaposed with sweet old songsā stuff
Alright, all the positive feedback tempted me to watch more and it is actually quite a fun series that captures the spirit of the original well.
