Turn Back Time is a legitimately great pop song but it has to be Barbie Girl. It’s so phenomenally subversive, an act of scathing commentary hidden under a weapons-grade ear-worm.

Been waiting for this; next up for me, this playlist, after I am done with The Kills’ Little Bastards. Fully expecting some new discoveries here, especially as the marvellous Agnes Obel only scrapes in at no. 13. Thanks @paulo13.

Hope you find some new stuff to like!
I loved Agnes Obel’s debut so much, that her other releases always never seemed to compare for me. Although the debut didn’t click straight away, so I should go back and listen to the later albums some more to try and bump her up the table.

Mew
Iceage
Loke Rahbek / Croatian Amor
Nuclear Death Terror / ABC Weapons
Electric Deads

Trentemøller and Cinerator both great too

  1. Carl Nielsen
  2. Agnes Obel
  3. When Saints Go Machine
  4. Efterklang
  5. The Raveonettes

I’m half Danish but completely ambivalent to the musical output of Denmark. Carl Nielsen is top because I used to get ice lollies on the street named after him near my grandparents’ house.

  1. Agnes Obel.

To get my vote in. Still enjoying @paulo13’s playlist, but too soon to vote on those.
