My brother bought the Paris Texas soundtrack and I listened to it for years before I actually saw the film. I pretty much knew the “these two people” verbatim by the time it came up in the film. Strange feeling when that moment happens.

Buster (staring Phil Collins)
Clint Mansell’s soundtrack for The Fountain.

Purple Rain. Still haven’t seen the film
Same with the Trons, actually
Riz Ortolani’s score for Cannibal Holocaust. The score is much better than the film.
A fair few thanks to Fantômas Director’s Cut, most recently Night of the Hunter
Three decades ago, but: Trainspotting
Peter’s Friends - my parents had the soundtrack CD, and that was my introduction to songs like The King of Rock ‘N’ Roll, What’s Love Got to Do With It and Don’t Get Me Wrong.
