I’m tired and we’ve now put on Rise to Honour with Jet Li on PS2. It’s toss but the graphics are alright.
Currently playing Jackbox Party pack 10 on the Switch with the family as we wind down after seeing in the new year.
Played a bunch of the FF7 Remake Yuffie DLC. Growing to really like it - just a big homage to Cowboy Bebop really, and the way it uses the Yuffie and Wutai themes creatively in the soundtrack is really great, maybe I’m just in a good mood
Not playing anything right now as in NOW now, having a whisky to see in the New Year. Currently playing Metal Gear Solid, the first one on the PS5 along with Atari 50 which is a super museum style presentation of games I am old enough from their 1st time around, well most of them. Love that Adventure is included and shocked at how bad the 1995 Jaguar games look, really lovingly put together compendium mind.
Metal Gear Solid, which I have never really played depth is becoming great at the 2 hour mark, for such an old game it oozes class.
Mgs1 is superb. Did you download the US version from the menu? It doesn’t have stutter like the standard EU version that’s sadly the default one.
I did, and and after getting used to the controls have been having a real blast with it. I know it’s a short game so I am inching through it. Read on here, probably you? about the US version and better frame rate.
Woop. Glad my nerdy bullshit helps sometimes.
Currently playing
Like A Dragon Gaiden: The Man Who Erased His Name.
This will be my first finish of 202r as I’m lapping it up. The fighting is brilliant fun and the sorry has me intrigued, and I love all the silly side missions.
I’ve only played 6 hours of Yakuza before this, so it is very different to other games I’ve played but I am enjoying it a lot.
Super Mario Bros. Wonder
This has not grabbed me. I suspect it will, but so far it feels like a bland fan game, it just doesn’t hit the way the other ones did. Or, maybe, I just don’t like 2D Mario games…
Happy New Year Woodie
And to you my fellow Prince of Dice!
Hope you having an amazing 2024
Nothing really besides overwatch and diablo 3. Everything i want to play i cant because i dont gave the systems for it . Sea of regret hitting me really bad right now not going to lie
I am still mostly compulsively playing Path of Exile, which is the EVE Online to Diablo 4’s World of Warcraft, i.e. not concerned with such childish notions as “fun” and “enjoyment”, in favour of layers and layers of complexity.
I’m also playing Lords of the Fallen and very much enjoying its wholesale rip-off of Dark Souls. And its own additions to the genre, which are very thoughtful improvements that feel like the designers really get the genre.
Also getting quite into the Lego mode in Fortnite, who fucking knows what it’s actually called, which is kind of Valheim-lite meets Minecraft. Yesterday I built Dr Mrs Epimer and I a bungalow that’s bigger than the rest of our village, put in an ensuite, then couldn’t do any more furnishing because I need to travel half way across the world to learn how to make wool fabric. Dr Mrs Epimer subsists entirely on raw wolf meat as a vendetta against a wolf that killed her early on, and as such is - in her words - “riddled with worms”.
Saw in the New Year playing Cyberpunk with a week old baby sleeping on me #gamer.
Very excited we are now close to Like a Dragon and FF7 Rebirth coming out!
It’s a direct sequel to Yakuza 6, so might be worth watching a recap of that game online as some of the upcoming story beats might not hit as hard or make any sense otherwise.
It also takes place at the same time as 7 (Yakuza Like a Dragon) and the events converge towards the end. So might be worth catching up on that one too lol
finished off the year by getting the platinum trophy on Hitman 3, and started it by unlocking a suit where it makes 47 have a pumpkin for a head. time well spent imo.
I understand coming at part 9 of like a eight part story makes no sense but it doesn’t feel too bad, yet. I did read the ending of the Wikipedia to get an idea of what Morning Glory was and stuff, so we will see.
As long as there isn’t major puzzles to figure out based on prior knowledge of the games I might be OK with missing a few references.
First year I’ll be able to contribute to these threads properly. Currently got these on the go
Lonely Mountains Downhill
Steamworld Heist
Katamari Damacy Reroll
Inscryption (Not started yet)
Spiritfarer (Not started yet)
Planning on spending less time playing this year but still got a fuck load in the switch sale because capitalism was invented to take advantage of fools like me
Got into the habit of doing a Picross puzzle before bed
