Gaming (2026)

Got loads on the go right now: Kingdom Come Deliverance II, Witchfire, Blue Prince, No Rest For the Wicked, Last of Us Remaster, Division 2, Disco Elysium, Silent Hill 2 Remake, and The Thaumaturge. Ridiculous. Wish I had time for a nice four hour session with at least one of them!

it’s 2026 and gaming still rules!

It gets much better when you start to have options about where to go next.

Harding and Bellara’s voice acting does not.

Restarted Fallout 4 after watching the first two episodes of season 2. Good job I did restart it because I don’t remember any of it and if I’d just gone back to my previous save, I would have been very confused

Why are there two gaming threads and should they be merged?

I think this is meant to be the physical/IRL/boardgame thread, but people started posting about computer games in it

It was the thread that was linked at the end of the closed 2025 gaming thread, so I think it’s supposed to be the main one.

I’ll post in both, I ain’t too good for it!

I understood the IRL to relate to Cyberpunk (ie we are living in the real life version of Cyberpunk) rather than to the games. But who knows!

2026 thread for gaming.

I’ve not really started anything yet this year, been messing around with Red Dead Redemption 2.

Despite having two weeks off work I still haven’t managed to convince myself to give Civilization 7 another go

I’m 57% of the way through my second playthrough of RDR2. Going for 100% this time so have focused on challenges. One of the gambler challenges took me four hours of just grinding. Why do I do this to myself?

Starting my year playing ā€œSlain - Back to Hellā€ as it is currently 90% off (so only Ā£1.79) on the Switch store.

Finished Pipistrello and the Cursed Yo-yo a few days ago. It was a cool 10-hour GBA platformer homage, had some real good technical platforming by the end. Highly recommended if you have nostalgia for something like Minish Cap or the like.

Finding it difficult to get PS5 time in with wee ones, been playing Indiana Jones for two months and only just got to Giza  Steam Deck remaining my main device to get small doses of solo gaming. However, playing Galaxy 2 with A has been super fun since he got the 2-pack for Christmas, Mario is pretty good int it.

I’m going to finish up my Switch 2 runthrough of TOTK and then play something new to me, either Cyberpunk 2077, Xenoblade Chronicles or FFIX if I’m feeling retro

Cyberpunk is supposed to be very good, according to several folk

I am finding the controls a fucking pain in the arse. The wheel is a real pain to move for weapons

Supposed to be a good conversion on Switch 2 as well. They’ve included a gyro aiming feature, which I love
