I want to get a cheap Chromebook, and I mean as cheap as possible. I just want it for google docs (can’t access them on my work laptop) and basic web browsing, anything else is a bonus.
I don’t mind a few scuffs and scratches so refurbished seems like a sensible option, but I don’t know where to look and not sure where to trust online. Anyone had any experience?
Ebay is still the best for stuff like that I think, just find a seller with thousands of reviews, there’s loads that pick up ex-corporate tech in bulk and sell on
Hadn’t thought of eBay (I always seem to have bad experiences on the rare occasions I use them), but this is the kind of thing I’m after and I guess it’s as legit as anything else:
There’s a very slim chance you’ll get a duff model that’s bashed up,or doesn’t work properly because they haven’t tested it, but that’s the same for anything bought online second hand
I bought a laptop for the eldest from Stone Refurb - maybe slightly pricier but a little more in the way of assurance if anything goes wrong, and still cheaper / more environmentally friendly than a new one.
Yeah their site looked very slick, slightly freaked myself out looking at reviews - decent score on trustpilot but all the recent ones were scathing. Can psyche yourself out of any purchase doing that I know.
