great artists without a great album

maybe they have enough killer singles but no one killer album - or maybe the whole body of work is standout, but there’s not one peak project

CMAT for me, brilliant songs and persona but none of the three are back-to-back great yet

Think she has one in her though

Probably controversial, but Big Thief. Basically all 7 or 8 out of 10

Creedence.

Probably loads of great artists from the 60s where they’d stick out an album every year and it was some banger singles, a couple of decent album tracks, a few covers and some filler

Cosmo’s Factory really is that good, sorry.

The Kinks.

The 60s stuff is 3 classics every album and a lot of filler.

It’s their best. But Chronicle is basically all the Creedence you need, and maybe the best best of of any band

Stop Making Sense is better than any Talking Heads studio album, remain in light and Fear of Music are both a bit too good for them to really qualify for the thread though

In Our Heads is their masterwork I reckon
