this is a bloody outrage! how could they do this to Paddington and his community? the horrible brutes
sycamore gap tree felling for millenials
it’s worse than that because Paddington is a little guy with feelings and wants to do the best for people around him. the sight of his sawn in half remnants is more than I can bear (haha pun)
throw the book at them, bring back hanging etc
It was only unveiled last October.
Also, just spotted a superb second mention in the second paragraph of this report.
They’ve been sent to Peru?
I’m usually in Valencia at least once a year and I love going to the ciudad de las artes y ciencias, previously the Delos HQ from Westworld and more recently the Imperial Senate in Andor
Hahaha this is the funniest fucking headline I’ve ever heard
“Ladies and gentlemen of the jury, one thing I would encourage you to dwell on as you deliberate is this: the accused you see there in the dock before you represent the antithesis of bear.”
it’s very funny to watch the film and see them run down the street, turn a corner and then be at the far end of the same street again, then turn another corner and they’re on the albert docks in liverpool
The street keeps repeating like Scooby Doo as they’re going in a straight line in the car
Oh yeah this also applies to Derry Girls and Conversations With Friends
I made a conscious effort to walk past the Amélie café last Sunday when we were in Paris for the afternoon, but this was as a common tourist, don’t shoot me
Yeah, I just looked up the locations of Fincher’s Girl With the Dragon Tattoo. Aced the whole list
Been to Port Isaac home of the fisherman’s friends and Clunesy’s Doc Martin though not because of either.
Also saw them filming the last scene of Doc Martin near one of the beaches we went to, didn’t get close enough to the big man to find out about the dvd sadly.
Had my 21st birthday in the nightclub they go to in Trainspotting.
Accidentally walked past the Ghostbusters fire station but was devastated to learn that Sal’s Famous was not a real pizzeria!
On a similar theme, the Hedgehog In The Fog sculpture in Kyiv always gets vandalised - mostly someone takes the Hedgehog’s jam jar, sometimes they take his arms or legs along with it. Every time it happened, locals got mad and the missing parts would somehow be returned intact. All he ever wanted to eat jam and drink tea from the samovar with his friend Bear!
(The mouth is the perfect shape, was fitting whenever his jar/limbs got taken.)
Granada Studios tour in the 90s (met Percy and Rita)
Used to meet my mate who did wardrobe for corrie at the set pretty regularly in the early 2000s
Granada Studios art project i did in 2016 which meant i got to spend a few days access all areas in all the closed down site so Sooty Show, Corrie, Baker Street or something idk. It was cool.
Truman Show/Seaside, Florida. Very very cool. Love the Truman Show a lot, and it was just the perfect weird fake feeling town (sort of a timeshare based town so it isnt quite real in the traditonal sense). Loved it so much.
Usually pop along to Dale St whenever a new film or show is set up there - Captain America, that Jared Leto spiderman film, Das Boot remake, some netflix Guinness series, peaky blinders, sherlock holmes, the crown etc etc. Really love set dressing. Think if i was more artistic I’d have loved to have done that as a job.
The green lagoon from One Million Years BC
The street behind me (and sometimes our flats) appear a lot in the harlan coben netflix adaptations, some other tv thing with whatsherface from muriel’s wedding in, the road outside is always on film but never keep track of what for anymore and i dont visit my flats or neighbours for that reason obviously (shoutout to the flats being on the last tv ads for Shelter)
Used to babysit at the non brookside close house of Jackie Corkhill until she moved to the close
I do a tour of murder disposal sites from Cracker and the Mcr eps of Prime Suspect, so all of those.
Went to the house from Hell is a City in Levenshulme (all the other sites are city centre so dont count)
A few weeks ago I went to the church from Night of the Living Dead at the Manchester Morgue (Hathersage)
Went to the street from Neighbours in 2003
My brother lived near the beach where they filmed Jaws 2 so i went there but not for that reason
As funky says, Wells/Hot Fuzz but not for that reason
Can’t remember what else but when i was a kid, my brother went to the house from Golden Girls and I cried so much that I didn’t get to go
Ooooh! I forgot I went to the Lost in Translation hotel too in Tokyo and sat where Bill Murray sat in the bar.
Wishlist:
Recreate Ringo’s existential crisis walk from Hard Day’s Night (London centric)
Go back to Truman Show/Seaside to stay for a few days and do a writing project
Dance with a corpse in a swampy shack in New Orleans (or y’know, anything more realistic from Interview with a Vampire round there)
Sit in the office that Tess McGill gets at the end of Working Girl
Wheeze some juice in the shop from Encino Man/California Man
Ride a horse and cart through Salisbury Plain (Return to Oz, Kansas scenes) or the street of the asylum in Hampstead (which has been demolished now). Always cracked me up how this was meant to be Kansas in 1900s. Have you ever seen a more English looking facade
Would quite like to do some stop offs at locations from Magnolia and Adaptation
Northern Exposure town
The hotel from The Lobster in County Kerry
Ice skate on the lake from the end of To Die For (Ontario)
Will eventually go to Malin Head for M’s name reasons and i believe that’s a Star Wars place, idk.
Stephen King Maine tour.
The film lot for Stars Hollow, Gilmore Girls
