Holidays 2026

Due to one reason or the other my ass hasn’t been on a plane for seventeen years!! So I’d quite like to go on a plane holiday. Japan is my first choice since I was 12 and still want to go there, but ideally for a month and have a slow holiday as I hate fast paced, crammed holidays

I’m going to one of the Canary Islands in March for my mum’s sixtieth (not sure which) then Czechia and Serbia in May to visit friends. I’m hoping to get another one in later in the year, September / October but that depends on my employment and housing situation.

I came out a changed man

Possibly going to Brussels early in the year.

Possibly going to a Haven park early in the year, there is one in Northumberland that looks potentially good for dark skies stuff and if you go in early March it’s silly cheap for the obvious reasons

Then our usual trip for Primavera Porto, but then having a few extra days in Porto or somewhere else that end of the country, and then on Cork for Cmat the following weekend! Very excited. Going to be very expensive.

I reckon if you’re going for the Motorhome you’d be better in Spring. Those campsites/sleep spots get super busy in Summer.

Where you thinking of going?

Places I want to go on holiday next year:

Barbados
Japan
Thailand
Ireland
Canada
Jordan
Botswana
Argentina

Australasia is feeling a bit left out! (But I love the ambition)

I forgot I’ve got a mystery holiday in feb, my friend group from school want to go somewhere but haven’t decided. Usually on these trips I just pay and show up :sob: absolutely useless at planning. This is why solo trips should work for me in theory bc I love doing things alone, but I can’t plan a trip and would end up doing too much/forgetting important things/overspending/hiding in my hotel room

Might do:

Albania
Tunisia
Japan

Will probably do:

none

I think my dream job would be planning other people’s holidays. I enjoy the planning part nearly more than the holidays themselves. I go wild making bespoke Google maps and PowerPoint presentations of plans before I go. I made a day by day PowerPoint presentation of my holiday to New Zealand and presented it to my other half for approval so that we could than enact it … That’s probably odd

It’s great! A genuine asset

If only a job like this existed in real life…

If I get invited back to the Philippines for work again in October then my husband will come out once I’ve finished and we’ll have a bit of a holiday afterwards. Outlook is good atm but I’ve had so many contracts cancelled this year that I don’t want to get my hopes up too much

I did work as a PA for a little bit and there was certainly an element of booking and organising holidays. Sadly mixed in with all the other crap though

I was thinking more of a travel agent. I’m sure there’s still high end travel agents who still work with people to put every piece of their holiday together from end to end.

It’s a growth industry at the moment, people are disillusioned with doing their own research and bookings.
