2 different bands in one. Comparing Peter Green era Fleetwood Mac to the band who made Rumours is like comparing White rabbit Jefferson Airplane to Nothings gonna stop us now Jefferson Starship.
Solid 3 for Green Manalishi.

I reckon Beasties got a positivity bounce from being the first hgatr after a break. Keep thinking we can’t have done Kendrick though as he must be a 4.3.

I don’t think anyone really dislikes the Beastie Boys in the way that, say, I do Fleetwood Mac, so there weren’t the usual 1s and 2s dragging the higher scores down.

Beastie Boys have been hyper inflated by the demographic here, fucking hell.

Anyway FM can have a 4. Heard everywhere been played at 6am and the lights go up many a time and it’s always very lovely.

2/5 for the earlier stuff. Once they got into the pampas grass and car keys in a bowl era they went really bad.

Mind you, I thought Everywhere was brilliant when I was 11.

Thought there might be quite a few 3s from people who like the singles or just 1 album. If we were doing pitchfork scores I’d probably go for a 4.4.

A 5 for Rumours, which might be one of the best albums ever released. It sounds like a best-of, it’s wall to wall classic rock songs.

I’ve only listened to the albums either side of Rumours, and they’re equally good. That version of the band is very different to the earlier stuff, as I understand it.

I like Rumours and Tango In The Night to give them a 3. That’s about all I can say really.

Can’t really contemplate giving them anything less than a 4 just on the s/t > Rumours > Tusk run. Mostly everything else I’ve heard by them has been pretty awful, but those 3 records are serious business

Go Your Own Way is such a magnificant song!

Like Bowie and Young at the top of the list (probs my fave two artists ever) they had a lot of crap albums. Still doesn’t take away that at their peak they’ve created a few absolute classics. Tusk is waaay underrated and even Tango in the Night and Mirage have some pretty good moments

Easy 5

all the sounds are fairly good but the end result is extremely boring

Hard to understate how good their performances were on each album. Stevie is one of the best vocalists ever imho. Straddle that line of 70s mysticism and mainstream bangers exceptionally well. Peter Green era had some fantastic tracks too. Oh Well in particular. Deminishing returns, went on far too long and definitely a part of the canon but right up there with the best of it.

Incredibly patchy output but then ‘Sara’ is possibly my favourite recording of all time and ‘Beautiful Child’ is pure brilliance (seems to be a little underrated to me, no one ever mentions it). ‘Rumours’ is just as patchy as ‘Tusk’ to me but they’re still a 5.

A band I don’t like but don’t hate. A very, very low 3, I guess.

Can’t stand them. 1.

Going with a 4. Rumours, Tango in the Night and some of the early Peter Green stuff were played a lot when I was growing up. Rumours is almost perfect and some of the singles off of Tusk and TITN are brilliant.

Couldn’t give a shit if they were coked up and sleeping with each other.

Don’t really see why people are that surprised tbh. Properly formative band for a load of people, released one untouchable classic and four other excellent albums, their music has a wide general appeal, they are genuinely brilliant human beings, engaging and entertaining in interviews, made great videos during the MTV era etc. Pretty easy band to love and fairly difficult to dislike. Pretty much tailor made to do well in polls like these
