Another band I don’t get TBH.

Even writing this I realise I have no idea if the difference between these guys and Tool

If Linkin Park ever wanted to branch out into writing adventure fiction for children, these would make a great set of book titles.

What? This is worse than not knowing who Jim Morrison was

Tool are a little more technical / proggy aren’t they? And then Limp Bizkit have the scatological humour and the meme content. And then you’ve got Linkin Park and I can never really remember what their USP is.

Grumpy anti-vaxxer

They always seemed like quite good eggs compared to lots of the nu-metal scene but their music was absolute nails down a chalkboard for me. 1

Scored a 2 from 13 year old me, but in the end guys, it doesn’t even matter.

Actually not a bad album cover

I’ve always had them down as being the nu-metal Muse, but maybe that’s doing them a gross injustice.

Are these the guys who did Lateralus?

I was too old when they broke through, so I know full well I was never the target market, but I’m still going to declare them as “shit” anyway. 1

Was in college when Hybrid Theory came out, remember sitting in A level Philosophy and my friend Rosie came in really excited because someone in Reflex Records had sold her this cd and had really hyped it as the most exciting music they’d heard for ages and had really diverse influences from bands we loved like Cypress Hill and Stone Temple Pilots. We were stoked. Couldn’t wait to listen to it.

It was fucking shit.

2/5 because Faint is a banger and when they played at Sonisphere someone behind us was whistling along to the melody from that song on the Transformers soundtrack like the Jolly Postman.

Always thought they were nu-metal.

Either way no idea.

Thanks for listening, have a great thread everyone.

Saw them support Deftones when I was 16 and they were good fun.

Did not explore further than that.

Chester seemed like a good egg

Used to love em. Still one of me mam’s favourite bands (as in I only have one mum, and they are one of my singular mums favourite bands). Seem like good eggs too.

1/5.
