The instrumental of For No One. My word!

Listened to the Super Deluxe version on Spotify today. Loved it.
The endless versions of the same song does get slightly monotonous, but not enough to turn off.
The album itself is just magic. Almost as good as Abbey Road…

The Dylan box set with an entire disc worth of versions of Like a Rolling Stone somehow manages to make that snare hit meaningless

Helps that this keeps it to 3 or 4 max

Fuck me this is exciting for future reissues/renasters

Utterly ludicrous album, can’t believe they still hadn’t given up touring when they made it, the songwriting is just astounding, none of the slightly bloated psychedelic stuff that creeps in on Sgt Peppers either, everything’s just so exciting and purposeful. Even the unreleased Yellow Submarine stuff gives some really interesting context to what’s sometimes considered the dud track. Fucking genius

This new video is rather pleasing.

Yeah I really like that acoustic version

The backwards guitar solo - the first time such a technique was used on a mainstream music recording - gets me every time.

Incredible track.

Indeed. Also, it took me 25 years of listening to the song to realise there is a yawn during one of the

Listening to the hard days night record.

The Beatles are fucking amazing.

Weird hot take about one of the least contrarian Beatles opinions possible (presumably trolling)

It’s the lack of their suggestion of the ‘correct’ favourite that’s a bit weird. Are they just saying Rumours and Sgt Peppers and implying most well-known = best?

Kind of interested to hear it TBH. This seems a bit contradictory though (emphasis mine):

“The song had a chorus but is almost totally lacking in verses. We did the backing track, a rough go that we really didn’t finish.”

Sir Paul later claimed George Harrison had declared the song “rubbish” and refused to work on it.

“It didn’t have a very good title, it needed a bit of reworking, but it had a beautiful verse and it had John singing it,” he told Q Magazine.

it was almost totally lacking in verses, but the one it had was beautiful

I feel like I had a period of thinking the canon classic albums were actually the best and people who didn’t were just being try-hard so I think I actually have to respect this as reasonable stance if that’s what it is.

This is a bit, surely
