Who were the first band to announce they were going on Indefinite Hiatus?
Such an often used phrase now, but I’m sure I hadn’t heard it before Fugazi / At The Drive-In used it.
Not sure if they were the first, but Stereolab used that phrase when they called it a day. I was upset but pleased there was a glimmer in “indefinite”.
It wouldn’t surprise me if Stereolab coined the phrase, as “indefinite hiatus” could be the title of a Stereolab song.

Primus have done it a few times. Must be older than that though.
Should’ve been one of the names of Jez’s bands in Peep Show.
