I know this came up on the Albums thread a few days ago, but it doesn’t really get better than this for me. The Magnolia Electric Company. John Henry fucking rules, and the reinvocation of the refrain from the opening track, and then the heartbreak of Hold On, Magnolia.

Also, I know all of the issues around certain members of this band, but the I always loved the audacity of Mansun putting the two lead singles off Six as the last two songs on the album, with one of them only being part one of a longer song where the second part includes the line “a frog it cannot comprehend the sea”

The immense depth of Bodhisattva Vow then the finality and downbeat pure tone of Transitions. Ill Communication is right up there.

Damaged state feel of Vanishing Point then the slow rise of normality fading back in Dream Attack, not far from their best album and reflected the rave scene quite perfectly, which they were perfectly placed to kiss of the 80’s with.

Was actually going to post these two! Power, Corruption & Lies, Low-Life and Technique keep swapping places as my favourite New Order album but Technique has the strongest ending.

Agree. I alter between Power, Corruption & Lies and Low-Life as their best. Technique is very close behind and including Joy Division even - has the best ending, the end of Technique has this blissed out vibe and damaged feel full off hope and just sounding like 1989 so perfectly.

These two closing tracks were what got me into Pavement after bouncing off them a couple of times. Lovely yearning quality to these tunes, and that fade out on Fin is beautiful.
