Manchester Recommendations

Hi all

In Manchester for one night with my eldest (13) tomorrow and would be really grateful for any recommendations on where to eat and things to do.

We’re staying at the Marriott Piccadilly so any good shops and places to eat that would also suit a 13 year old would be amazing. (He’s pretty easy going and not fussy re food).

Thanks very much

Nell’s at Kampus is a good shout as its enormous pizza/slices and they do decent priced frozen margs for the adults. Never too busy, in a nice spot. Other places I’d normally recommend are probably a bit too much on a Saturday night for a 13 year old.

Affleck’s Palace is great for a mooch around if you want to do some shopping.

If he’s into gaming then he’ll probably like this:

There’s a Rudy’s next door and a 24 hour Spar underneath.

Rudys is good for pizza. Football museum is good if he’s into football.

Bundobust is good for veggie Indian street food. Fred Aldous might be entertaining for shopping? Lots of craft and art stuff.

Forbidden Planet and Travelling Man are both good for comics if he’s into that, and there’s also the vintage football shirt place near there. Afflecks could be amazing, too!

I don’t really know what 13yo kids are into. From my experience of nephews and nieces, they’re just embarrassed by my presence/terrible jokes.

Thanks loads everyone - we are here now so looking forward to checking some of thsse out :+1:

One Plus+ chinese hotpot for food - it’s a fun restaurant where you make your own dipping sauces and cook your own food in hot broth which you pick from a belt that goes round the restaurant. Kinda like sushi from the belt, but its more like you’re grabbing noodles and veg (and meat if that’s what your into) and chucking them in tom yum broth and then dipping them in sauce mixtures you’ve invented yourself…
