there used to be a glitch in the first football video game I ever owned - ‘FIFA’ on the n64 where the referee would call time at 60 minutes whenever you played Middlesbrough, and your team would always be awarded a 3-0 win due to forfeit regardless of the score.
You win some and you lose some, in this great game of football we all love so much. The important thing is to have fun, accept the highs and lows, and not get angry because you imagined someone on the internet was insufficiently complimentary of your holding midfielder.
Think OPTA had us at 2% to go down before this set of games. That always felt wildly out given the gap was only six points and we go away to West Ham on the final weekend.
I’d make it 25% minimum now, and you could make a strong argument for each of West Ham/Spurs/Forest finishing above us.
We’ve generally played well. Some very fine margins and we could easily be sitting comfortably where Sunderland are on 40 points. But we’re not, it’s two wins in twelve and we’re fully in the mix.
