Don’t think I appreciated at the time how few of these I actually know properly, there’s quite a few of the previous years with these threads where I’ve known way more.

Feels like a decent balance with no obvious howlers (I don’t mind Fred Again), without there being any real knockout contenders. Even the Young Fathers one that will win this is decent rather than brilliant imo.

Of the ones that I know, only Shygirl clicked with me (though it really clicked, was one of my favourites of the year). I expect Lankum and Young Fathers to do well here though.

Not a fan of any of these really srrynotsrry

Jockstrap for the win

It’s Lankum and two others (and those two are Young Fathers and Jockstrap)

This might be the only year in history where the Mercury judges got it right

Dizzee in 2003 is the only time I feel they’ve really nailed it (maybe SIMBI too idk)

How I feel any time I open one of these threads. I’m lucky if I know an single album in the polls.

Listened to that Ezra Collective album recently and it was so dull. Lankum and Shygirl for me.

This Post Paid For By PROF$.

I personally love that Ezra collective album. So much colour and energy. Certainly not dull imo

Damn, missed it. Well, Ezra winning was the right call, so probably wouldn’t have voted anyway.
