Uptempo is something you know when you hear it, donāt consider it a bpm thing. Reggaeton always strikes me as quite uptempo but I donāt think it goes above 110bpm much.
In the same way Unfinished Sympathy is something like 120bpm, but doesnāt feel it all. Iām just going for the know it when I hear it approach, and nervously reassessing my own pick
True, but uptempo melancholia would be (according to a Google search) melancholia played with āa fast or increased tempoā.
So if weāre going down this route we need to establish a baseline tempo for melancholia against which we can judge the relative āfastnessā or speed increase of the songs submitted.
This is my round, Iām basically just looking for melancholic songs that arenāt slow. It doesnāt have to be super fast or anything. If there were a āsad songsā round most peopleās first thought would be to pick something slow and quiet, so Iām basically just trying to eliminate those from the pool.
