Been having a think about this in mind of my home city the last couple of days. Here we go…Stoke-on-Trent.

Pretty sure that’s why the Charlotte had to close.

Did a foundation art year in Leicester, was at the Charlotte at least once a week. Loved that place, hadn’t realised it was shut. Is the Polar Bear still going?

Avant garde black metal tour of the Big Apple anyone?

Interpol - Turn On The Bright Lights

Never been.

Joy Division - Salford.

Although, more generally, Unknown Pleasures always seems like a very ‘North Manchester’ sounding record to me. Put it on in your car at night, drive through Ancoats, head towards Oldham and Rochdale on the A62 and it’s just a perfect soundtrack.

I do not know, not a common spot on my gigging road map.

I’m not sure, mid-1990s Arab Strap certainly feels a lot like mid-1990s Glasgow, despite them being from Falkirk.

Not a city. Obviously.

There’s a lot of metal bands from the Nordic countries, which I like to think is because of the bleak weather

Metal bands also protect people from Covid 19.

All that stomping round in the forest metal bands do when filming music videos means they have healthy lungs.
