I am seriously looking for some inspiration for how to do some kind of DIY job around a music video or lyric video to support an upcoming release, and I’m just totally stumped for ideas and inspiration. I’ve got no idea what to do or how to do it!
Desperately seeking examples of these done well… or ideas for people who might be cool to work with (teeny budget) on something little?
Share with me what you’ve done, or what you’ve seen other people do, or those long held ideas for cool music videos that haven’t been realised yet. TYSM
We did this video for our last single towards the end of last year.
It was really just a case of putting together lots of short videos we already had of the band and other random videos we happened to have on our camera rolls. We then just overlayed the lyrics at the relevant sections.
We used LumaFusion but you can do similar things in iMovie or other basic video editing apps.
Our videos have all been zero budget and while I can’t offer any advice as I’m terrible at making videos, one thing that absolutely made my mind blow is how utterly painful it is to edit video on a regular PC as opposed to one rigged up for editing. I used my ‘studio’ PC which is oldish but great for audio work, and it absolutely crawls through video.
Oh I know. Last year I did a lyric video just using mainly stock footage (dw, it’s shit) and even on a pretty hi spec video gaming pc it was a total mare to put it together, just crawling along
